Clear Box + Wood-Fibre Grass Fill

Clear Box with Wood-Fibre Grass fill

I can’t tell you how long I’ve wanted to use a clear box for wrapping. I love the idea of being able to see inside a gift yet still not know what it is.

This clear box is one of those collector’s display boxes, and I filled it with some pink wood-fibre grass that I picked up from the dollar store around Easter. (You could also use crinkled paper shred or plastic grass for gift baskets.) To make sure the gift can’t be seen — even by snoops who shake the box — I wrapped the gift in tissue before placing between layers of the pink grass.

P.S. That fun striped gift tag? That’s by Lindsay Stephenson of the Penny Paper Co.; it was one of a set of four in the swag bag from January’s BlogPodium event in Toronto. Lindsay writes the Little House Blog, and is also responsible for BlogPodium, a conference series for design bloggers, which she co-founded along with Jennifer Flores of Rambling Renovators. Tomorrow I’m heading to the second BlogPodium event; if you’re going too, be sure to say hi!
